The vision
and mission of ASHA are manifested in its objectives which aims at:

Initiating
action programs among the poor specially in rural areas to improve
the quality of individual's life through self-reliance and enabling
them to reach their optimal potential for growth and development . |

Initiating
actions among women, poor and marginalized sections for the
elimination of poverty, marginalization, and sustenance of
empowerment process. |

Promotion
of community based organisations and women groups supporting local
initiatives for self-reliant progress, controlling, managing and
optimally utilizing natural productive resources for a sustainable
environment and livelihood and collectively addressing local issues
and development challenges. |

Equipping women and poor with appropriate technical knowledge,
managerial skill for small enterprises, entrepreurship development,
greater economic participation for employment, income, livelihood
and empowerment. |

Initiating appropriate actions for gender justice, improvement of
health and nutritional status of mother and child, young girls and
women and development. |
 |
Taking
up appropriate measures for the overall growth of child labourers,
girl child and illiterate children through education and skill
promotion activities. |
 |
Generating critical awareness among women, youth, rural people and
other backward classes through functional education, training,
seminar, work camps with technical orientation for the promotion of
self-reliance spirit. |

Promoting integrated and sustainable income generation activities
among women and focal groups for the reduction of hunger, disease
and socio-economic dominance and dependency. |

Organising sustainable activities in the field of community health,
education, sustainable agriculture, forest- environment issues and
natural productive resources management, rural technology, youth
animation, gender issues, drought and disaster mitigation,
rehabilitation, training and community based organizational and such
other programs for the qualitative improvement of vulnerable
sections and society as a whole. |

Disseminating and interchanging information, experiences, ideas,
knowledge, problem analysis - planning - implementation - monitoring
- evaluation and resource mobilization among focal groups, and
community organizations having convergent collaboration,
coordination and assistance in NGOs, Government and other
development agencies, research institutions to facilitate the entire
development process of women and weaker sections. |

up study, research, process documentation, evaluation, consultancy
and such other activities. |
