In the process of social development, the role of women is equally important as that of man but unfortunately, this aspect is totally neglected and in gradual process the women remain alienated from the developmental process. To address this issue, ASHA has taken steps to organize the rural women and motivated them to take action against all social discriminations affecting their lives. ASHA feels that economic independence of women is the first step towards their total liberation. It has thus organized the women at village levels to form Self Help Groups. The groups on the other hand have formed federations. To empower women, the organization has initiated steps to increase their information and knowledge level. Regular PRA & LFA training has been conducted collect village level data and formulate village development planning. This helps the women to remain active in village development process and provide planning support to the Palli Sabha.
